St. John the Baptist Cathedral from across the Ring
St. John the Baptist Cathedral from across the Ring
Our next stop—in the rain—was St. John the Baptist Cathedral, which was on the other side of centre city. Because all our guides are focused on churches rather than cathedrals, we did not realize it until we got there that it was built in the nineteenth century. But it was no less beautiful. There are two "rings" (they are not particularly round) around Norwich. This, the inner ring, is a four lane road just outside what used to be the city wall, some of which can still be seen in spots.
