At The Airport
We arrived to return the car before five. We hit upon a gas station just moments beforehand, which saved us the considerable expense of returning the car half empty. Of course, I had to pass the sign that directed us to the exact place where we were to leave the car. So we had to stop and ask someone. A U-turn and some very careful observation led us back to the right place. Soon we were on the shuttle to Terminal 1. Can we get through the whole process of checking in without incident. Certainly not! I absolutely insist on going into panic mode when I discovered I could not find my passport and booking pass. Because we had the baby with us, we had been directed through a shorter line, so everyone else was just about through when I discover they are gone. I fumble through my back pack and pat all my pockets several times before asking an attendant if someone had turn them in. He said no but directed me to go through security and ask on the other side. While I was putting my things in the bins, I looked up to see Nancy waving my passport above her head. Okay, enough drama for a while! Of course, now we had the task of occupying the boys for three hours or so. On one of my trip taking Everett for a walk we happened upon this play area. Ah, the one truly sensible thing in an airport. Everett had a blast! And it occupied him for quite some time. Soon we were off on our way to Iceland. We arrived after 11:00. It was raining but not totally dark. We still had a 45 minute shuttle to Reykjavik. So it was about 1:00 before we were in bed. Meisha had to be at her session by 9:00 the next morning.
